Clugston’s 75th Anniversary Charity Challenge

Events compilationThroughout its history Clugston has always played an active role in supporting local communities be it through a commitment to local employment and suppliers, or funding arts and community events and charities. Consequently to celebrate 75 years since incorporation, the Group is marking the event with a small legacy for the benefit of the local community and has set the goal of raising £75,000 for a number of regional charities:

Events which have taken place or are planned include; the Three Peaks Challenge, a 38-mile cycle ride from Lincoln to Boston and a 10K swim at Ponds Forge Sheffield (one of the projects Clugston was heavily involved in constructing.)

The company will also be pledging funds from savings made thanks to the introduction of energy saving and carbon reducing technologies – all part of a Group-wide sustainable strategy for the future.

The Charities which were selected following nominations by our employees include:-

  • The Lighthouse Club Benevolent Fund – supporting ill and injured construction workers and their families
  • Lindsey Lodge Hospice – offering care and support for people with life limiting illnesses
  • The National Autistic Society – providing information, support and campaigning on behalf of families affected by autism
  • The Prince’s Trust – helping young people into work, education and training
  • The Samaritans – providing confidential emotional support 24/7
  • The Weston Park Hospital Development Fund – cancer support and information centre
  • The Woodland Trust – woodland conservation charity
  • Young Enterprise Trust – helping young people learn about business
  • Gifted – a home and programme designed for women with life-controlling issues
