Energy saving experts invest in Hotels product

In support of the growth it has experienced, and following an increase in sales and interest in Hotelstar, an innovative energy management system that reduces electricity consumption in hotel guest rooms, EMSc (UK) Ltd has appointed Steven Wood as Hotelstar sales representative.

Mr Wood, who has extensive experience in the hotel industry, previously worked as a business development executive with The Late Rooms Group where he was responsible for recruiting new hotels and maximising sales for hotels across the UK and Northern Europe. His new role will see him develop business opportunities and distributor networks across the UK for Hotelstar, a key product in the company’s Star® range of energy saving solutions.

Speaking of Mr Wood’s appointment, EMSc (UK) Ltd managing director Dr Alex Mardapittas said:

“We have invested in the development of our manufacturing systems and resources to increase output, and the next logical step is to increase our sales resources. We are extremely pleased to welcome Steven to the team and we believe that he will bring tremendous experience to our operations.”

Hotelstar, which is designed, engineered and manufactured in the UK, uses intelligent control sensors to monitor guest room occupation discreetly and switch power accordingly to avoid energy waste. Whilst rooms are occupied, guests have complete control of all the facilities. Once a guest leaves the room Hotelstar takes control and overrides to default settings – it switches back to the settings selected by the guest when they re-enter the room.
Using sophisticated software, each unit can control all the appliances, including lights, heating, air conditioning, TV and radio, in up to four rooms and integrates with all other building functions.
EMSc (UK) Ltd is currently celebrating over 10 years of British design and manufacturing success. At a time when Japanese and Chinese electronic and engineered solutions dominated the market the company maintained its research, development, sourcing and manufacturing in the UK, refusing to compromise on quality.
