Bookings for The Manufacturing Sustainability Conference at the Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham on 18th September 2012 are going exceptionally well, with 80% of spaces already filled.
The free to attend conference, which was only officially launched in July will be delivered by EMSc (UK) Ltd, manufacturer of the Star® range of energy saving solutions, in partnership with Made in Sheffield. The Conference will provide a platform to promote innovative British manufacturing as well as to provide the manufacturing sector with comprehensive information relating to sustainability issues and ways to improve energy efficiency.
The event, which is the first in a series, is taking place in Sheffield and will precede MADE: The Entrepreneur Festival, kicking off four days that will celebrate British manufacturing, innovation and sustainability.
Commenting on the conference and the collaboration with MADE, Dr Alex Mardapittas, EMSc (UK) Ltd managing director said: “We are delighted and overwhelmed by the response to the conference. We knew when we planned the event that there is a desire to learn more about sustainability, but we had no idea that the manufacturing sector would be this enthused about finding ways to improve energy efficiency.”
He added: “We are also very excited about collaborating with MADE: The Entrepreneur Festival, which will bring together great British inventors, designers, manufacturers, business owners, budding entrepreneurs and UK policy-makers. Delegates attending this event in addition to the Manufacturing Sustainability Conference can look forward to a valuable and interesting experience.”
A growing number of industry bodies and associations are lending their support to the conference, which will feature various keynote speakers, including Dr Mardapittas and Brian Young, director general of the British Frozen Food Federation (BFFF). Representatives from environmental consultancy Blue Castle and manufacturing specialists AESSEAL will also be presenting.
In addition, EMSc has announced that it will be launching the latest addition to its innovative range of energy saving solutions at the conference.
With limited spaces remaining for the conference, Dr Mardapittas highlighted the reasons for attending: “The conference will include informative case studies, stimulating debate on the future of manufacturing and an opportunity to learn from a number of leading experts. In addition, attendees can network with like-minded companies, enjoy a champagne reception and tour of one of the country’s most unique attractions, and have an opportunity to win exclusive prizes.”
