Harvard secures £2.7 million RGF grant

Harvard Engineering, world leader in the design, development and manufacture of control products for the lighting industry, is pleased to announce it has secured a Regional Growth Fund grant of £2.7 million.

The funding will be used to increase Harvard’s manufacturing capacity, enabling the company to grow in international markets, and will help create a number of new jobs

at the company’s head office and manufacturing facility in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. Harvard has recently opened offices in the USA, Germany, and Italy, and expanded its already successful operation in France.

John McDonnell, managing director at Harvard, commented, “Our international growth is a key part of our long term strategy and the Regional Growth Fund grant will enable us to develop our manufacturing facility in West Yorkshire and grow our capabilities worldwide.”

Harvard was named a UK National finalist at this year’s European Business Awards, and a finalist for the 3i International Growth Award at the National Business Awards. In 2011, the company was awarded a Queen’s Award in the innovation category and won the Orange Innovation Award at the National Business Awards.
