High Technology Lighting, suppliers of energy-efficient lighting solutions for retail and commercial spaces, was chosen to provide its innovative downlights and spotlights for use in the recently opened first direct Arena in Leeds.
The LED luminaires, from the company’s Quartet range, were given a bespoke finish to match the exact colour palette of the executive boxes, lounge and bar areas within the arena. Comprising of a mixture of over 300 fixed and adjustable downlights and track spotlights, the fittings will bring a modern look to the building as well as saving energy and ensuring the cost of running the lights stays low for years to come.
Ailsa Oliver, assistant general manager at the first direct Arena, commented, “We are delighted with the lighting at the first direct Arena. The fixtures from High Technology Lighting not only provide us with an energy saving solution but they also look fantastic and create a great ambience in the executive boxes, lounge and bar areas.”
The LEDs, which will also reduce air conditioning costs as they give off much less heat than any other light source, are DALI controlled allowing management at the first direct Arena to lower light levels to save energy and create ambience.
Thomas Holgeth, joint managing director at High Technology Lighting, commented, “We are always extremely proud to fulfill a client’s brief, especially on a prestigious and highly competitive project such as the first direct Arena. Using this innovative technology, the arena will not only save energy and the associated costs but the lights also look great! The fact that the product is designed and made in the UK also means it offers significant benefits to the environment and the issues of responsible sourcing and ethical trading, which can only be a good thing.”
High Technology Lighting’s Quartet LED range, incorporating the market-leading Xicato LED technology, is the most compressive product offering of its type in the world.
