One of the UK’s leading independent logistics companies, Redhead International, is pleased to announce it has opened a new 21,000 sq ft facility in Tamworth.
Firmly established in the Midlands for over six years, Redhead recently announced record turnover and is looking forward to a continued long and successful future in the region. The company has ambitious plans to further develop business opportunities, facilitate growth and investment, as well as create jobs.
Redhead’s new Tamworth depot, which has direct daily services to Ireland, France and Germany, also runs services into all major European destinations many on a daily basis.
In recent years Redhead has been experiencing increasing demand for its flexible services, particularly from small medium sized businesses looking to transport between 1 and 5 pallets internationally.
Germany particularly, remains one of the most successful international markets for many UK companies, with economists predicting 2% growth in 2014. Like the UK, Germany’s economy has remained an EU strong point.
Redhead services include RedNet, a pallet service for companies whose shipping needs may not be large in volume, or regular in frequency and RedDirect, a groupage service offering economical transit across the whole of Europe for consignments of any size, shape or type.
Commenting on the move to a new larger depot Tony Suggitt, Redhead’s managing director said, “The Midlands has been an important part of the company’s plans for many years, it remains at the heart of the UK’s recovering economy and we can see demand for services, particularly our daily services to Germany, France and Ireland growing.”
He added, “An increasing number of companies in the Midlands are developing their international presence, as a result, they are looking for an alternative flexible logistics partner, we hope Redhead can be that partner.”
Redhead International, established in 1978, has depots in Bradford, Tamworth, Basildon, Bathgate, Belfast, Bristol and Dublin. Employing over 230 people internationally, the company has regular scheduled services to over 40 countries in Western, Eastern and Southern Europe, Scandinavia, North Africa, the Middle East and the CIS countries. Current turnover is more than £34 million a year.
